Supporters Club elect new Chairwoman
Port Vale Supporters Club have elected Ally Simcock as their new chairman, replacing the outgoing chairman Pete Williams.
We’re handing over to a new committee with the supporters club in good health…
The group held their AGM at Tommy Cheadle’s on Tuesday night with the entire committee standing down.
Port Vale in the community chief Jim Cooper was appointed deputy Chairman.
Outgoing chairman Pete Williams commented: “We’re handing over to a new committee with the supporters club in good health.
“We’ve helped to steer the football club through rocky waters, and now, with new owners, we can look forward to the future with optimism.”
Williams and the outgoing committee deserve much praise for their roles in increasing the prominence and influence of the Supporters Club as the club itself descended into chaos and mismanagement.
The group launched a “Save the Vale” campaign, raise over £70,000 for the club, oversaw the unveiling of the Roy Sproson statue and increased membership from 200 to 1,600.
