Vale’s match against Bradford is called off
Port Vale’s League Two game against Bradford City which was scheduled for Saturday afternoon has been called off, the club have announced.
The club had made strenuous efforts to make the pitch playable including the use of heaters, but as the weather conditions continued to decline, the club called for a pitch inspection.
At lunchtime on Friday, the club announced that “despite the best efforts of the ground staff, who have worked tirelessly” the game had been called off.
Ironically, rivals Gillingham have also had their game postponed which means that Vale will have the consolation of remaining at the top of the League Two table this weekend.
