Grew ‘praying’ Bradford game goes ahead
Port Vale assistant manager Mark Grew has told the Sentinel that Saturday’s game against Bradford City could fall foul of the weather but that he is “praying that it goes ahead” as the club hope to continue their good recent form.
The groundsman is doing everything he can, but the covers that are on there were frozen yesterday and we couldn’t get them off…
Grew told the newspaper: “We’re praying that it goes ahead.
“We’ve had two wins in a row and we want to take that into the Bradford game.
“The groundsman is doing everything he can, but the covers that are on there were frozen yesterday and we couldn’t get them off.
“And once you get frost into the ground, the covers will keep it in there.
“We’re hoping for the best.”
Vale’s last cancellation due to the weather was back in December when the pre-Christmas game against AFC Wimbledon was postponed.
