Chilvers keen to extend Vale stay
Central defender Liam Chilvers has told the official Port Vale website that he would be keen to sign a new contract with the club.
I think I have done quite well since I have been here and it has been positive for me…
Chilvers signed on a short-term deal during the November loan window and that contract will expire after Vale’s game with Plymouth on Saturday.
Chilvers commented: “I am here to the 5th January at the moment, so if it’s just until the next game then that’s what it will be.
“That will be a decision made, I would think, by the management here and they will let me know whether they want to keep me or not.
“Obviously I want to stay and I think I have done quite well since I have been here and it has been positive for me, but at the end of the day it’s not my decision, it’s down to somebody else.”
31 year-old Chilvers has made four starts plus two substitute appearances during his second spell with the club.
