Adams ‘proud’ of Vale players
Manager Micky Adams has told the Sentinel he was “proud” of his players despite their FA Cup exit at the hands of League One side Sheffield United.
I was so proud of my players…
Vale conceded two goals in the closing minutes after leading for much of the game, but Adams told the newspaper that he wasn’t too downhearted by the defeat.
Adams commented: “I was so proud of my players. To a man they battled hard.
“We’ve come to a team in the top four of the division above us and gone toe-to-toe with them.
“We played particularly well in the first half, and while Chris Neal had to make a couple of saves, their keeper made a great save as well.”
