Was Pompey midfielder Vale’s third loan target?
The Sentinel claims that Portsmouth rookie Jed Wallace was Vale’s third loan target on deadline day last week.
Vale clinched the loan signing of defender Liam Chilvers on Thursday, but many fans were disappointed after the club admitted that late paperwork had seen two other loan moves rejected by the Football League.
Lee Hughes was widely believed to be one of the targets, but the identity of the third man was subject of some speculation.
The Sentinel has now revealed it believes it was Portsmouth’s Jed Wallace, who is a 18 year-old midfielder.
Wallace has made a solitary League Cup appearance for Pompey and is currently on loan at non-league side outfit Whitehawk where he plays alongside former Valiant captain Tommy Fraser.
