Vale reserves hit four
Port Vale reserves continue to emulate the scoring feats of the senior side after they defeated Wrexham 4-0.
Vale’s second string had already beaten Bradford 5-1 earlier in the season and on Wednesday afternoon they hit four against Wrexham.
Vale were leading 1-0 at half-time thanks to a Sean McAllister effort and in the second-half goals from Luke Beesley, Kingsley James and Ryan Lloyd (pictured above) rounded off the scoring.
And in a further boost, midfielder Darren Murphy started the game. Murphy could be in contention alongside Kingsley James for the Wycombe game especially as Sam Morsy is suspended. A starting place is unlikely for Murphy as the Irishman is still recovering from injury, but the summer signing may be included on the bench.
Perhaps tellingly, Ben Williamson and Adam Yates were not included in the reserves side, a move which may indicate that they may both be in contention for a place in the starting eleven at the weekend.
Vale: Sam Johnson, Joe Evans, Tom Morris, Kingsley James, Joe Davis, Gareth Owen, Josh Croft, Sean McAllister, Luke Beesley, Darren Murphy, Ryan Lloyd.
Subs: Joe Hemmings, Will Whieldon, Doug Price, Jack Pryor, Macauley Davies
