Vale Park Heroes collection raises £846
Tuesday night’s bucket collection at Vale Park in aid of Help for Heroes has raised a total of £846.40 for the charity.
In total, £721.40 was collected in buckets on the night, while a further £125 was donated online. All the funds (both bucket collections and online) are now with the Help for Heroes charity. The bucket collection money was counted after the game and deposited in Help for Heroes bank account on Wednesday. All money donated online is automatically passed on to the charity once a donation is made.
Our thanks to everyone who donated.
The collection was a joint effort between onevalefan.co.uk (OVF) and Port Vale FC in order to pay tribute to Steve Buffey and Pete Blakeman who had returned from active duty in Afghanistan. The were guests of honour at the club and proudly lead the teams out on to the pitch and received a standing ovation from the Vale Park crowd.
