Exeter City 0-2 Port Vale

Rob Match Reports 2012-13, This season exeter city, tom pope

The prolific Tom Pope reached eleven goals for the season as the Vale produced another good away performance with a 2-0 win over Exeter.

Micky Adams made one change to the starting line-up with Rob Taylor returning at left-back to make his 100th start for the club. Captain Doug Loft moved into midfield to partner Sam Morsy and Richard Duffy lined-up against his former club.

The home side had a chance ruled out for offside and almost immediately Sam Morsy had a good chance for the Valiants.

But Pope found the target with a header on 40 minutes as Vale took a 1-0 lead into the interval.

And the big targetman doubled his tally on the hour mark with a headed second.

It was another excellent result for the Vale who consolidated their second place in the League Two table.

Vale: Neal, Duffy, McDonald, McCombe, Taylor, Myrie-Williams (Lloyd), Loft (Burge), Morsy, Vincent (Shuker), Dodds, Pope

Subs: Johnson, Davis, Williamson, Shuker, Burge, Lloyd, Yates
