Administrators’ update on bids, Sproson statue date announced

A joint statement from the Port Vale Supporters Club and administrators Begsbies-Traynor has given an update on the bids for the club and also announced the date for the unveiling of the Roy Sproson statue.

The statement begins as follows:

PORT VALE SUPPORTERS’ CLUB STATEMENT – OCTOBER 4, 2012

Supporters’ Club representatives met this week with the Joint Administrators and are pleased to release the third of our fortnightly updates for fans:

With regard to the bidding process, Begbies-Traynor told Supporters’ Club representatives they remained in negotiations with a number of interested parties – three of whom they now considered to be ‘front-runners’ in the race to buy Port Vale FC.

Football League rules require the Joint Administrators to identify their preferred bidder who will then need to satisfy the League’s requirements under the ‘fit and proper persons’ test…”
