Want a career in football? Vale scholarships available
Port Vale in the Community have told OVF there are still a number of scholarships available at the club, but any interested parties are running out of time if they want to register an interest.

Vale in the Community has scholarships available for male and female candidates age 16 to 17 years who have a keen interest in sport and want to advance their education.
Students will study BTEC Level 3 Sports Diploma and take part in a full games programme of FUTSAL (indoor football). Other league clubs in Vale’s division include West Brom, Cardiff City, Derby County, Crewe Alexandra, Notts County, Chesterfield and Wolves.
The course offers pathways to University, the England Futsal squad and opportunities to become a professional futsal player or forge a career in the sports and leisure industry.
Vocational qualifications studied on the learning programme include Refereeing and Level 1 and 2 football coaching. The course offers pathways to University, the England Futsal squad and opportunities to become a professional futsal player or forge a career in the sports and leisure industry.
The course runs for two years over 16 hours per week (for 39 weeks), the education and football training will take place at Vale Park with nationally qualified tutors.
This is not a paid course but an excellent alternative to just extending your learning at College; tudents will represent Port Vale FC in the National Futsal League and will travel to games.
Community Trust Manager Jim Cooper says “This initiative has been highly successful in the South West of England and has produced above the national standard of results in Education. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity and the final whistle is about to blow so react quickly to register your place and you could be playing for Port Vale FC as early as next week”.
