Adams: Dodds deserved his chance
Micky Adams said he was “delighted” after Vale began their League Two campaign with a 3-0 win over Barnet and added that Louis Dodds, the scorer of Vale’s first goal, deserved his chance to play upfront.
Adams commented: “We’re pleased with the three points, because that’s all it is. I am delighted with some of the play today and disappinted with some also, but all in all I’ve got to be happy.
“I think it’s important that you set the tempo of the game and we did that early on. To go 2-0 up within 25 minutes was well deserved.
“Louis (Dodds) has the ability, we’ve all seen that. I think the problem we’ve had with Louis is trying to find him a position that suits him the best.
“I thought he did well against Burnley. He deserves his chance and has the ability to score goals.”
