A statement from the official Port Vale Twitter account has brushed aside rumours linking manager Micky Adams with the vacant Gillingham manager’s position.
Rumours circulated last week that Adams could be lined up by Gills chairman Paul Scally, a close friend of Adams.
But a tweet from the officialPVFC Twitter account stated: “Micky Adams has dismissed reports linking him to the vacant manager’s job at Gillingham. Micky is currently on holiday.”
Meanwhile, Gills chairman Scally told the official Gillingham website that there has been “plenty of interest” but the club “will wait a week or so” before drawing up a shortlist.
