Page replaces Horsfield in coaching set-up
Port Vale FC have announced that youth team coach Robert Page has been promoted to first-team coach for the new season.
Page will replace Geoff Horsfield who recently announced that he was quitting his coaching role at Vale Park.
Manager Micky Adams told the official Port Vale website: “I have worked with Robert both as a player and a coach, and I believe he will be an asset to the first-team set-up.
37 year-old Page was capped 43 times by Wales during a 18 year playing career. This is his first coaching role.
“Although he is just starting out in his coaching career, he has some progressive ideas and I am looking forward to working with him.
“As Rob has left the youth team set-up, we are now actively recruiting for a youth team coach.”
Page will work alongside Adams and assistant manager Mark Grew, while player-coach Gareth Owen will be responsible for the Vale reserve team.
