D-Day for out-of-contract Port Vale players
Port Vale manager Micky Adams is set to hold talks with his squad on Tuesday as he confirms to Vale’s out-of-contract players whether they will be offered a new deal with the Valiants.
The vast majority of the Port Vale first-team squad will be out of contract and some players such as Marc Richards and Anthony Griffith have been linked with moves to other sides.
Adams has given few indications of who will be offered what – although he has told the press tha youngsters Joe Davis and Ryan Lloyd will be given professional deals, while injured Lewis Haldane will be offered “some sort of deal” by the club. Meanwhile, youngster Charlie Raglan was the first player to be released after failing to make the first-team.
Vale’s contract negotiations have been hampered by the move into administration and the subsequent Football League paperwork which means businessman Keith Ryder is still not formally confirmed as the club’s new owner.
