Luckless Burge faces fresh knee operation
Luckless Port Vale midfielder Ryan Burge could face up to 12 months out after he received news that he could require a second operation on his knee.
The 23 year-old midfielder signed a two-year contract with the Valiants in the summer of 2011 but a knee injury ruled him out for the vast majority of the season.
Burge is under contract at Vale Park for a further twelve months, but if he undergoes this operation, it is unlikely that Vale fans will see him in action at all next season.
The injury-plagued midfielder managed just 180 minutes of action last season. His two appearances were against Huddersfield (JPT) and Tranmere (Carling Cup).
Burge was placed on the transfer list earlier this month but his injury almost certainly means that there are unlikely to be any buyers for a player facing a serious operation.
OVF would like to wish Ryan Burge all the best and a swift and full recovery if he does indeed require further surgery.
