Adams: "my hands are tied" over contracts
Micky Adams has hit back at Port Vale fans who have criticised his retained list. The Port Vale manager told the Sentinel: “We cannot sign anybody from outside the club until Keith Ryder comes in, so my hands are tied.”
Adams told the newspaper: “Everybody has their own opinions and I have seen and heard fans moaning that I am signing the same old players.
OVF founder Rob Fielding argues that the Port Vale squad does not need major restructuring and that he doesn’t agree with criticism of Micky Adams’ decision to offer contracts to the vast majority of his squad.

“But the fact is that until the club comes out of administration, the only players we can agree deals with are the ones who are already on our books.
“We cannot sign anybody from outside the club until Keith Ryder comes in, so my hands are tied.
“If I left all of my squad-building until then, we wouldn’t have a team for our pre-season friendlies.
“So until we come out of administration, the only players signing will be solely out of the group from last season who I have offered contracts to.”
