McDonald cleared of rape charges
Port Vale defender Clayton McDonald has been cleared of raping a 19 year-old woman by a jury at Caernarfon Crown Court.
The 23 year-old denied the charges of rape at a Premier Inn near Rhyl in May 2011.
However, Sheff Utd striker Ched Evans, who was with McDonald at the time the alleged incident occurred has been found guilty by the same jury. Evans has been sentenced to five years in prison by the Judge.
