Nantwich Town: We’re with you in spirit
Jon Gold, the chairman of local non-league side Nantwich Town has sent Port Vale fans a message of support following the club’s recent financial melt-down.
Nantwich contacted OVF earlier this year to show how Port Vale had reneged on the terms of former Nantwich player Ritchie Sutton’s contract in the summer and now Gold has been back in touch to offer his support to the Valiants.
Gold told OVF: “I am sincerely sorry and disappointed to see the precarious position that Mr Deakin and his boardroom colleagues have now left you in.
“I can only imagine the anger, disgust and resentment that you and the majority of Port Vale supporters are feeling and I hope and pray that out of all this unfortunate mess, you can survive and prosper once again under the ownership of like-minded people who actually care about the club and more importantly, know what they are doing and set about doing it honestly and transparently.
I wish you all the best in getting positively through it and we are eternally grateful for the support and help that you gave to us and wish you to know that we are in spirit with you at this time, as Football, the supporters and the history of the club has to be the winners here!”
In order to further encourage goodwill and good relations between Nantwich and Port Vale fans, Gold has also invited Valiant supporters to an Inter-Club Supporters Quiz.
