Adams: I’m frustrated but safety is paramount
Port Vale manager Micky Adams told BBC Radio Stoke that he understands why the game against Shrewsbury was abandoned and that “safety is paramount.”
Tuesday’s night game failed to be completed after floodlight failures caused by a fire in the main stand. It was the second time that the game was unable to take place.
Adams told BBC Radio Stoke: “It’s a first for me. Whilst it is frustrating for everyone.. the safety of the supporters and players in the stadium is paramount… there’s no doubt at all that the game will be replayed at some stage.”
Adams also hailed the performances of first-team debutants Kingsley James and Phil Roe as “terrific.”
He also praised defender John McCombe who was not expected to play. Adams added: “I have to say John McCombe shouldn’t have played. He should have been out there. There’s a lot of people playing with illness at the moment.”
