Birchall's return boosts Adams' options
The Sentinel reports that Chris Birchall has received international clearance to play for Port Vale and the midfielder could now be included in Vale’s squad to face Northampton Town.
Birchall, the club’s most-capped player, has agreed a month-to-month contract six years after he first played for the club and he could be named as a substitute.
Birchall’s clearance gives Micky Adams plenty of food for though as fellow newcomers Paul Marshall and Chris Shuker also impressed on their Vale debuts at the weekend.
