Adams: Tomlinson will pick himself up
Micky Adams has told the Sentinel he is confident goalkeeper Stuart Tomlinson will bounce back after his late error saw Vale drop two points at Valley Parade.
Tomlinson let Andrew Davies’ header through his hands in injury time and Adams told the newspaper: “It feels like a defeat because we played ever so well and deserved to win.
“A mistake has cost us, but I can’t fault the players for their efforts.
“The tackles were flying in and it was a very competitive game, but we stood up to the test.”
“As I said in the dressing room ‘yeah, everybody saw the mistake’.
“But Tommo kept us in the game in the first half with one save.
“That’s the life of a goalkeeper – you can make great saves, but unfortunately it was his mistake which has cost us getting three points.
“Tommo and everybody else will have to pick themselves up and get going again for an important game against Gillingham on Saturday. I’m sure they will.”
