Port Vale 4-0 Aldershot
Loanee Guy Madjo scored a hat-trick but Vale’s game against Aldershot was most noticeable for mass protests by supporters against the board.
The protests were organised by the Supporters Club and included a red card protest against a board whose time at the club is surely nearing an end.
On the pitch, Micky Adams named an unchanged side and Madjo gave them a dream start with a goal after just eight minutes.
Loanee Liam Chilvers had to leave through injury and was replaced by Clayton McDonald, but that didn’t stop Vale doubling their score two minutes after the re-start through Madjo.
The striker then scored his hat-trick on the hour mark and substitute Sean Rigg made it 4-0 with seven minutes left.
So, while fans will no doubt be delighted with the victory, there is no doubt there will be even more celebrations when this unpopular board finally leave Vale Park.
