Rodgers blames Glover bust-up for Vale exit
Departing striker Luke Rodgers has claimed that a dressing room ‘bust-up’ with manager Dean Glover was responsible for his Vale Park exit
Rodgers claims he was frozen out by Glover after a dressing room incident following the 3-0 home defeat to Brentford in November.
Talking to the Sentinel, Rodgers said: “I had an argument with Dean in the dressing room, and I think he took it to heart and said he wouldn’t play me again.
“I didn’t think it was worth being there, taking my money and just sitting at home. I didn’t want to do that to the club especially with the difficult financial situation they’re in.”
According to the newspaper, Glover was unavailable for comment.
It is not known whether Rodgers accepted any pay-off for terminating his contract.
League One sides Northampton, Leyton Orient and Yeovil are all believed to be interested in the 27 year-old striker.
