Michael Walsh back in action
Defender Michael Walsh has boosted Vale by playing 45 minutes of a reserve game against Crewe Alexandra.
The injury-plagued defender has been missing all this season due to a stomach problem.
However, after treatment from former Vale physio Matt Radcliffe at the Alexandra stadium, Walsh has made his latest return to action.
The defender turned down an offer from Vale to pay up his contract earlier this season as he remains determined to prove his worth to the club.
Walsh is out of contract at the end of the season.
A £175,000 signed by John Rudge from Scunthorpe United, Walsh has unfortunately been plagued by injuries throughout his time at Vale Park.
He missed out on a call-up to the England U21 squad through injury and has suffered two broken legs plus broken bones in his back during his unlucky stay with the Valiants.
Walsh told the official Port Vale website “I can’t put into words what I am feeling.”
