Mike Lloyd to join Port Vale board?
Press reports have suggested that former Walsall Chairman Mike Lloyd could be joining the Port Vale board.
The music and events promoter, Who used to run the “Mike Lloyd Music” chain of stores in the Staffordshire area has reportedly already invested in the club.
Lloyd left the Walsall board three months ago and has attended recent Port Vale games in the company of Vale director Paul Humphreys.
The promoter has also helped with arranging evening events in the Lorne Street stand recently.
Lloyd told the Staffordshire Sentinel: “I have said I would be interested in becoming more closely associated financially or at board level, but it is up to Bill and his board whether they want me or anyone else involved.
“After 15 years at Walsall I feel I have something to offer and would like to be part of things again.”
Lloyd’s involvement could be a real boost to Vale’s board as he comes with extensive football league boardroom experience and any investment from him would help Chairman Bill Bratt with his aim of selling more shares in the club.
