Hibbert turns down Vale offer
According to his agent, Dave Hibbert will reject the offer of a two year deal with the Valiants as the player feels he is worth more.
For an unproven player with a mere two full senior games behind him and a bad injury record, we think he may want to enter the real world!
Hibbert certainly has potential as his goalscoring debut proved, but how he can demand any more than a two year deal somewhat surprises us here at OVF Towers.
Reports have suggested that Hibbert is also concerned he will not get regular football, but we fail to see how he would walk into any other club if he left. Vale have developed Hibbert into the player he is now and one with a lot of potential. Perhaps he should consider that and the contract on offer.
We’re sure Hibbert is a nice lad and we’d love to see him at Vale Park for years. Certainly the fans would warm to another homegrown talent alongside Billy Paynter.
We’d like him to sign, but not at any cost. Get real Dave!
