George Abbey will miss the Hull game after a late call-up to the Nigerian International squad.
Abbey was not in the original squad, but he has been called up following an injury to Celestine Babayaro.
Abbey will compete with CSKA Moscow player, Chidi Ordia for the right-back position.
Nigeria take on Gabon in the preliminary stages of the African Nations competition on March 26th.
The match takes place on the ground of George’s former club, Port Harcourt, so Abbey will doubtless be keen to take part.
However, Abbey’s journey could be fruitless as Nigeria coach Christian Chukwu has told the African press that Abbey’s call-up does not guarantee him a place:
Chukwa told SportsChampion that: “The late invitation does not mean automatic shirt. He is not the only one. He must work hard to merit a shirt. And I have told him so.”
